Henley’s 1 Year Cake Smash

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was when Lindsay asked me to shoot her daughter Henley’s one year cake smash session.  I mean, what’s better than capturing the cutest one year old I have ever met as she dives into her very own cake?  I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do.  P.s. sorry there are so many, it was hard to pick!

Hamilton Engagement Session with Tegan and David

One of the last engagement sessions before the days turned cold and all the leaves fell from the trees, we started at Tiffany falls in Hamilton and then went to one of my favourite nature spots in Dundas.  It was so much fun incorporating some of the things that are most important to them in their lives (their dog and a love of the outdoors).  Thanks to Tegan and David for travelling all the way from London for the session!  Can’t wait to see you guys again on your wedding day!

Thanksgiving Camping at The Pinery

Every year my family goes camping for Thanksgiving, usually at The Pinery in Grand Bend, Ontario.  For those of you who have a love for nature, the outdoors and camping, but have not yet visited The Pinery, I suggest you do so!

Just a few shots from the weekend…

Peter and Claire Married in Perth, Ontario!

Earlier this spring, I shot Peter and Claire’s engagement photos (one of my most popular engagement sessions – see here) and absolutely fell in love with their genuineness.  The depth of emotion in their relationship was quite evident during our session, resulting in photos that far exceeded my expectations.  Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Here is Peter and Claire’s story…

After a long drive up to Perth with my partner and second shooter Jessica, we ended up in a fantastic bed and breakfast just outside of Perth called Clyde Hall.  Conveniently, this was also the location Claire would be getting ready at in the morning.  I couldn’t wait to start shooting!

I awoke after a fantastic sleep to an amazing breakfast and the chance to get to know the rest of the bridal party.  I really value the opportunity to get to know everyone when things aren’t as fast paced as they will be during the rest of the day.  After breakfast, it was time to get ready!

One of the best parts about shooting weddings is the ability to capture completely candid moments that most people would expect are posed.

The reception took place at a number of fabulous old barns that had been renovated to host events; definitely one of the nicest weddings I have ever been to.  Most wedding photographers would agree that it is the details that really have a big impact on the aesthetics of the wedding, and Claire did an awesome job in that department!

A Glen Cairne Golf Course Wedding – Steph and Anthony

I have known Steph for many years now, having met her during my undergrad at McMaster University in Hamilton.  She was one of my very first models during my initial experimentation with photography.  Steph always talked about how amazing her loving boyfriend was.  When she got engaged and asked me to do her photos for her wedding, I was so excited!  Finally a chance to repay her for helping me jump start my passion many years ago.

When my assistant and I went to meet her at Glen Cairne Golf Course a couple weeks before to discuss the final details, we must have driven by the entrance a couple times (its quite hidden) before finally finding our way inside.  The club house was quite impressive and I was curious to see how I could incorporate it into shots throughout the day.

Two weeks flew by and my assistant Geoff Reiner (check out his blog here) were on our way to start with a few shots of the ladies getting ready.

This first shot I snagged right after Steph had her hair done – completely candid!

Everyone else, thanks for reading!
