Albion Falls Engagement with Rob and Larissa

Waking up this chilly morning with frost on my windshield and the winter just around the corner, I found myself wishing I was back with these great people on a nice warm summer evening in Hamilton.  We started the session off at Dundurn Castle, moving to Albion falls to get some unique waterfall shots later in the evening.  Had so much fun with these guys – they couldn’t stop smiling!  Can’t wait to see you both again on your wedding Toronto wedding photography Toronto wedding photographer

Wisam and Lubna – a Dundurn Castle Engagement Session

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Wisam and Lubna who had asked me to provide a few photos for their upcoming wedding at the beginning of October.  They really liked the idea of shooting at Dundurn Castle in Hamilton, followed by a second location at Webster’s falls, time permitting of course.  I arrived early and scouted out the location, noticing that there were not one, not two, but three other photographers there.  Apparently it was a popular spot.

Wisam and Lubna arrived about 15 minutes later.  After saying my usual bit about the importance of being natural and forgetting I am there (I really stress this as I feel the best photos are the intimate shots you get when a couple pays no attention to you), Wisam and I talked about photography gear (always a favourite topic for me).  I learned that they both loved photography and immediately had mixed feelings.

The good: I would have an easier time setting up shots since they were aware of the importance of natural looking shots

The bad: I would have to work hard to come up with a unique, creative perspective

Here are a few photos from the evening….

I really enjoyed working with Wisam and Lubna, they are two very genuine, happy, and fun people.  I know your wedding will be beautiful!

Peter and Claire

When Peter asked me if I would be willing to shoot his wedding and do an engagement session for him and his fiance Claire, I was thrilled.  Peter and Claire are one of those couples who feels very comfortable with each other, I knew if I could just bring that out, my job would be easy!  Last year around this time, I had scoped out a location with gorgeous natural wildflowers in Dundas and had always wanted to do a session there.  The flowers wern’t out yet, but we still had a great time!

First stop…  Burlington Beach for a short session.

The beach is always a great place to shoot.  Excited to do more sessions there once it gets a little warmer!

We got to the Dundas location a little later in the evening than expected.  Still in time to capture the fantastic evening light.  Love how green the moss is.

Toronto wedding photography Toronto wedding photographerPeter had mentioned he was usually pretty awkward in front of the camera.  Funny how when you put people together and make them feel comfortable, they forget a camera is even there.
